Gefen 8x8 Matrix RMT

The Gefen EXT-RMT-MATRIX-848 is an 8x8 Matrix RMT remote control that lets you control your Matrix switcher from up to 1000 feet away.

The 8x8 Matrix RMT can be used to switch video in 3 different ways. The 8x8 Matrix RMT is connected directly to the Matrix device via CAT5 cable, you may push the buttons on top of the RMT Remote to switch video. The 8x8 Matrix RMT can also switch video wirelessly via infrared using the Gefen RMT-8IR. Finally, an RS-232 port on the back of the Matrix RMT allows switching via a control device.

You simply choose which method you will be using to control your Matrix device. For infrared control, you need do nothing but point the RMT8-IR Remote at the 8x8 Matrix RMT Remote and press buttons to initiate switching. For RS-232 control you will connect a 9-pin serial cable to the back end of the Matrix RMT Remote, then initiate a command string from your control device.
