Question: How do I get this product to work properly with the Microsoft Digital Media Pro Keyboard software? The switch seems to be defeating the recognition of the keyboard by Windows 7.
Answer: Because particular operating environments vary widely, detailed tech support is beyond the scope of this FAQ.
While most KVMs are operating system independent, support for keyboard software can be spotty. Your best bet will be to contact Belkin support directly at http://www.belkin.com/support/.
Question: Just to confirm, this device will support xd monitors at 2560x1440 pixels...correct? When I downloaded the manuel it says it only supports 1980 x 1200 pixels.
Answer: We contacted Belkin and they recommended that we assume only the 1920x1200 would be supported, based on the manual. Even though the tech specs state a resolution of up to 2560 x 1600 @ 85Hz we were told that this information may be inaccurate and that the information in the manual (1920 x 1200) should be referenced. We regret any confusion caused by this information.
Thank you for pointing out the discrepancy, we will update the product specs to reflect this new information from Belkin.
Question: Dose this KVM support wirless keyboards and mouse? (like Logitech?)
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, there is no KVM on the market that explicitly states it supports wireless keyboards and mice. It is a hit or miss proposition and we cannot guarantee any particular switch will work.
When we have customers attempting to use a wireless keyboard or mouse, we generally suggest Avocent switches. That is not to say this switch will not work with your particular setup, it just seems we have the most luck with the Avocent models.
Question: Do both computers have simultaneous access to any peripherals connected to the USB ports or are those ports tied to the currently selected PC?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. USB hub KVMs typically allow independent switching of the USB devices or they share simultaneous access. The manual and product literature does not mention either independent switching of the USB hub or simultaneous sharing, so we could not say either way. We have reached out to Belkin for further clarification and will update this post if we find out a definitive answer.
Question: Leuchtet der Ring der beiden Druckknopfe?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. If we understand your question correctly, the colored ring does not light up, but there are two LEDs on either side that will light up when either the target computer and/or audio peripherals are in use.
