Aten IC485S is a 2-way converter for converting RS-232 signals to and from RS-422/RS-485 signals in long-distance application up to 1200m (4000 ft.). It supports the connection of up to 32 hubs.

However, ATEN has indicated you may be eligible to receive a power adapter free of charge. Please call ATEN at 1-888-999-2836 for details.
Question: will it support windows 7 OS?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, we cannot say for sure whether this unit supports Windows 7 or not. It is not listed under the supported products page.
That doesn't in-itself indicate the IC485s will not support Windows 7, but without further guidance from the manufacturer, we would be hesitant to say that it does. If we receive additional information from the manufacturer, we will update this page.
Question: can i use this version without power adapter like the N version?

According to our tech team at Aten, the power supply for the IC485S is "rarely required" - esentially wether you would need to use the power supply would depend on a few different factors such as the amount of power your port can output, the distance you are extending, if there is electrical interference, etc.
