ATEN High Density KVM Switch

The ATEN KH0116 high-density KVM switch offers a highly efficient network management solution.  Specially designed high-density console connectors allow a 16-port KVM switch to use only a 1U-high rack space, and control up to 512 computers through daisy chaining.  Additional console port provides remote access capability. Through ATEN's extender kit, KA9250, or IP unit, CN5000, the user can control attached computers 500 feet away or anywhere worldwide. The KH0116 switch offers many advanced features such as an intuitive On-Screen Display (OSD), hot keys, excellent video resolution, two-level password security for users with different security clearance, flash ROM for firmware upgrade, remote console, and more.

ATEN KH0116 Requirements:

• Console:
  • VGA, SVGA, or Multisync monitor capable of the highest resolution that you will be using on any computer in the installation
  • PS/2 mouse
  • PS/2 keyboard
• The following equipment must be installed on each computer:
  
  • VGA, SVGA or Multisync card
  • 6-pin mini DIN (PS/2) port
  • Either a 6-pin mini DIN (PS/2) keyboard port, or a 5-pin DIN (AT) keyboard port.
• For USB computers: USB to PS/2 adapters are required.
• For SUN servers: Servers with VGA and PS/2 connections (such as the SUN Cobalt)are supported; the legacy 13W3 SUN servers require additional adapters. The Spac SUN workstation with USB connection is supported with an additional adapter.
• Cables: For optimum signal integrity and to simplify the layout, we strongly recommend that you use the following high quality ATEN Custom Cables:

  Notes: (1) KL0116 does not support serial mice. You cannot use Serial-to-PS/2 adapters with the extender cables. (2) If your computer uses an AT style keyboard socket, you will need to purchase a STANDARD PS/2-to-AT keyboard adapter, in order to plug the cable into keyboard port of the computer.
