5V DC power adapter for Vertiv Longview 3000 and 4000 KVM Extenders
Question: What are the overall dimensions of this power supply?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,
The dimensions of the Avocent PSC0006 unit are: 7.25"L x 3.5"W x 2"H
Apologies for the longer than average delay while we confirmed this information with the vendors product development team.
Please let us know if there is anything else we can ever help you with!
Question: Please confirm the dimensions listed below in the question's response about overall dimensions. The dimensions provided by the manufacturer are significantly smaller: 36H x 52W x 99L mm (1.4H x 2.0W x 3.9L in)
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. We just reached out to the manufacturer to confirm dimensions. The person we spoke with stated the dimensions listed in their system are 2"H x 3.5"W x 7.25"L.
We are not sure why there is such a discrepancy, and unfortunately, we do not have any physical specimens here to verify the manufacturer information we were given.
We do however, have a power supply for an older HMX user station, which is also a Vertiv (formerly Avocent) product. The dimensions for that power supply are closer to the dimensions provided to you: approx. 1.4"H x 1.9"W x 3.75"L. This is also a 5VDC power supply, but it does not have a Vertiv part number on it, so we could not confirm that it is a PSC0006 power supply.
Additionally, a third party source provided package dimensions of 2"H x 4"w x 9"L (unfortunately, they also did not have a unit to measure)
All that said, the HMX power supply we measured looks very similar, in terms of proportions, to the images we can find of the PSC0006. This leads us to believe the dimensions provided to us could be package dimensions, and the dimensions provided to you are the actual power supply dimensions. However, without an actual unit to measure, we could not say definitively.
We have a reached out to a couple of additional resources to see if we can provide a definitive answer, but we will likely not hear back until next week. When we have additional information, we will update this post.
Again, thank you for reaching out and we will update this post and send you an email as soon as we hear anything.
