Question: We're looking for a DVI matrix switcher with 20 inputs and 16 outputs. The SM-32X32-DVI-LCD seems a good choice. Can you explain the difference between this one and the UMA-16Dx16D matrix switcher due to the big price difference even with a smaller amount of in/outputs.
Answer: In general, Rose Electronics products are more robust than others. This particular Rose product has a non-blocking feature (wait-free), also a unique "Learn Mode" determines the specs for any output monitor. Once learned, the monitors do not have to be connected for the computers to boot. Another difference is automatic receiver equalization (video calibration done automatically) and a faster video bandwidth TMDS (transition minimized differential signal) rate of 2 x 1.65 Gb/sec. TMDS Is A Technology For Transmitting High-Speed Serial Data.
Depending on your application, there may be other options out there. Please give us a call at 1-877-586-6654 to discuss your project in greater detail.
Question: We are interested in the 32x32 matrix. We have various inputs. For example: PC with VGA card wich will converted to DVI-D. PC Display port with an adapter for DVI-D. PC with DVI-D double link. Video (digital coax) which will be converted to DVI-D. The output will be on 10 meter cables to 22" monitors resolution 1920x1080 DVI or HDMI or via DVI Extenders via a CAT-7 cables. Do u see any problems with this? What type of DVI cable do you specify for the outputs? We tested double link DVI 10 meter cables on a display port and it worked fine.
Answer: This sounds like a pretty complex environment. Please call us at 1-877-586-6654 to discuss your project further.
Question: What is the shipping dimension of SM-32X32-DVI-LCD-5V16A?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,
The shipping box dimensions for the SM-32X32-DVI-LCD-5V16A are 30" x 30" x 12". The dimensions for the unit itself are 20"L x 19"W X 7"H.
