Question: Am getting a replacement 9V power supply for a ST-C5KVM-300-E and need to know what polarity is needed or can it support both positive and negative.
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. The Network Technologies Incorporated (NTI) website has the following power information for the ST-C5KVM-300:
Local and remote unit: 110 or 220 VAC at 50 or 60 Hz via AC adapter.
Power Consumption: 10 W (each - local and remote unit).
Looking at the two DC power converters though, both output +9VDC, 0.6A.
https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/pwr-12v-9v0.html
"PWR-12V-9V0,6A is an external 12VDC to +9VDC, 0.6A Power Converter"
https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/pwr-48v-9v0.html
"PWR-48V-9V0, 6A is an external 48VDC to +9VDC, 0.6A Power Converter."
Additionally, the ST-C5KVM-300 manual shows the power connector barrel as having positive polarity.
So, at least for the U.S. version (ST-C5KVM-300), it appears that it accepts a positive polarity. However, we would suggest contacting the Australian NTI distributor directly to confirm that the ST-C5KVM-300-E version is positive, negative or can accept both. http://www.ntikvm.com.au/cat5-300.html
