Question: Why does it need drivers? I've got an usb device and usb host that needs to see this device (neither windows nor linux). So the local device needs to recreate exact USB signal. Will it work transparently?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,
The USB2-C5-LC requires drivers which are only available for Window OS's. For a Windows source, once connected to computer, the USB2-C5-LC unit can be found in Device Manager under Network adapters and not as a USB controller. The device connected to the remote unit should work normally as if directly connected to the computer.
For a USB 2.0 Extender that extends USB transparently and works with virtually any OS without any drivers, you may be interested in the similar Icron Ranger 2311 instead.
