Avocent USBIAC-15 is a 15ft USB CAT 5 integrated KVM access cable designed to reduce cable bulk. Use the USBIAC-15 cable to convert keyboard, monitor and mouse signals from a server through a single integrated CAT 5 cable to your switch. The USBIAC-15 cable draws its power from the server and has Keep Alive functionality that will keep your server working properly with or without connectivity to the Avocent KVM switch or serial console switch. The USBIAC-15 supports USB 2 peripheral devices (Virtual media & Smart card/CAC) on Avocent Mergepoint KVM switches.

Question: How is this product (USBIAC-15) different than the AVRIQ-USB2? This seems to have the AVRIQ-USB2 connector plus the ethernet cable for half the price. This is for an Avocent AV3200.

However, the AV3200 does not support virtual media so the difference between the two would be that the USBIAC-15 has a set distance of 15 feet between server and switch, whereas the AVRIQ-USB2 can have a custom cable length up to 100 feet.

I would recommend the USBIAC cables if your know your environment will stay the same, and the MPUIQ-VMCHS dongles if have any plans or possibility of changing your configuration.
