Dual & Multi Monitor Support
KVM Over IP switches offer unrestricted multi monitor support for any number of monitors. Multi monitor support is achieved by using a separate port for each of attached displays, and then opening those in separate sessions - I.E. a 32 port KVM will offer support for 16 devices with dual monitors. Raritan Dominion KX3 KVMs also offer native a dual monitor 'follow' mode, which automatically opens up all the relevant displays when connecting to a server. The new optional Dominion User station (DKX-UST) also features (2) DisplayPort and (1) HDMI video ports that can be mixed in dual-monitor applications.
Virtual USB Media
Virtual Media lets the user remotely mount storage devices, CAC readers, printers, bootable ISO, and any other USB devices onto the computers and servers connected to the DKX3-132 KVM Over IP switch. The networked USB device functions as if it was directly attached to the source computer or servers USB port.
Virtual USB media is also critical for remote administrators to perform of a number of tasks from installing applications, security patches, complete OS installs, to virus scans and diagnostics. These tasks can often be performed simultaneously on all servers attached to the KVM switch without a physical presence in the server room.

User & Group Permissions
DKX3 KVM Over IP devices allow administrators to define users and groups with customizable administration and port access permissions. Admins can typically choose between View only, Shared, Exclusive or Private connection modes.
Active Directory Authentication
Dominion KX III KVM Over IP models also support third party authentication and authorization through Active Directory services like LDAP, AD, RSA SecurID, RADIUS and TACACS+. Access and control based on user-customizable criteria like time of day, location, application, operating system, department and function. Active Directory also allows for consolidated logging and audit trail.

For greatest compatibility between environments (depending on your video, keyboard, and mouse connections) the Raritan DKX3-132 KVM does not ship with the KVM to Ethernet dongle adapters (CIMs). You can select the adapters that would best fit your application from the "Accessories" section if this page.
Question: I see that there is the new DKX4 series 1-Port IP KVM coming out - Are there any plans to replace DKX3-132 with a newer model like Raritan DKX4-132?

As of February 12th, 2018, Raritan does not currently have a public release plan for replacing the DKX3-132.

Question: We are considering the DKX3-132 for being used on a USAF network. Is it considered a "Secure" KVM and does it have any DoD credentials, i.e. Common Criteria Portal, NIST FIPS, etc?

The Raritan DKX3-132 indeed meets DoD security standards including: AES & FIPS 140-2 encryption, UL certification, Common Access Card (CAC) authentication, PIV, FIPS 201, HSPD-12 and IPv6 networking.
- U.S. government agencies and the Department of Defense are now mandated to purchase IPv6-compatible products - The Raritan Dominion supports IPv6.
- The Dominion KX III uses an embedded FIPS 140-2 validated cryptographic module running on a Linux platform per FIPS 140-2 implementation guidelines. This cryptographic module is used for encryption of KVM session traffic consisting of video, keyboard, mouse, virtual media and smart card data.
- The Dominion KX III also supports AES 256-bit and 128-bit encryption as recommended by the U.S. government's NIST and FIPS standards Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) for added security. The weaker RC4 encryption is no longer supported.
- Please note that due to the specification of the protection profiles, NIAP Common Criteria certification is not really suitable for the evaluation against over-IP / network-attached switches or matrix switches. You can find a list of our Common Criteria Certified secure KVMs here.
