Question: I am trying to send a PC's video (VGA or DVI) over a single CAT5 about 80 feet. Can I use a DVI to HDMI adapter on the PC end to send the video over the CAT5 to a TV with HDMI input? I do not care about audio. Thanks! Tony Rucker
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. The manufacturer has confirmed this unit can be used with a DVI-D to HDMI adapter (https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/hdmim-dvidf.html). Please note however, the signal that goes to the sender needs to be a digital video signal. The adapter will not convert an analog signal to digital for use with the HDMI connection.
Question: Is there a warrantee on these I purchased 4 sets in January and one is bad
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,
Im am sorry to hear that. Absolutely, there is a 2 year limited manufacturer warranty for the ST-C6HD-150-LC extenders. You can get your replacement initiated by contacting your KVM Switches Online representative at info@kvm-switches-online.com, at 1-877-586-6654, or via our Live Chat.
Question: Can I plug the CAT6 ends into an unmanaged switch?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry,
You cannot transmit the NTI ST-C6HD-150-LC HDMI video signal over an unmanaged switch (supports IP traffic only); However, you can do so with the new NTI ST-IPHD-LC HDMI Over IP CATx extender.
*Note: An unmanaged switch cannot guarantee full bandwidth to the extender - For mission critical or multi-point configurations you would need a managed switch.
