The AdderView Pro AV8PRO-DVI-US is a professional grade KVMA switch delivering ultimate flexibility for users who wish to share a high resolution screen and modern USB peripherals between a multiplicity of computers.
The AV8PRO-DVI is designed to enable eight computers to be controlled from a single high resolution KVM console using either dual link DVI or high definition analogue video links. The switch makes use of Adder's True Emulation technology which enables USB HID devices to be continuously emulated to each computer. This unique technology enables instantaneous and reliable hotkey switching whilst also supporting the extra keys and features of enhanced keyboards and mice. Furthermore, the AdderView includes two independently switchable USB 2.0 channels and an audio channel, giving the user the flexibility to attach selected peripherals to different computers. An advanced OSD completes the professional switching experience.
Two AV8PRO-DVI units can linked together to form a 8 Port Dual-Monitor KVM Switch by using VSC41 link cables.

True USB 2.0 emulation
Unlike most KVM switches, which only support the most basic keyboard and mouse features, Adder's revolutionary 'True Emulation' allows you to use the extra function keys, wheels, buttons and controls that are commonly found on modern keyboards and mice. You can also use any other USB interface device including graphics tablets, jog shuttles, joysticks, 3D explorers, and wireless bluetooth keyboard & mouse*.
Independent USB & Audio device switching
The AdderView Pro AV8PRO-DVI includes two independently switchable USB 2.0 channels and an audio channel, giving the user the flexibility to attach selected peripherals to different computers. For example, use the KVMA console to work on one computer whilst your USB peripherals are connected to other computers and your speakers are playing music from yet another.
Broad High Speed device support - Transparent USB 2.0 Hub
An integrated transparent 2-port USB 2.0 hub allows a vast range of USB devices can be connected to the AV8PRO-DVI from non standard keyboard / mouse devices to flash drives, printers and scanners.
Fast & Reliable Switching
Country code reporting, extended DDC EDID profile and continuous keyboard and mouse emulation ensure faultless operation. The USB 2.0 switching action has also been carefully engineered to ensure maximum computer reliability when connecting and disconnecting USB devices.
Channel selection options
The AdderView Pro AV8PRO-DVI can be switched using the front panel buttons, selectable keyboard hotkeys, 3 button mice, an On-Screen-Display (OSD), or using simple ASCII codes via serial RS232. Optionally, you can also use the RC8 remote switch to make your selection. These switching options allow you to rapidly reassign connected devices to any of the connected computers.
Dual-Monitor Configuration
Two AV8PRO-DVI units can linked together to create a 8-port dual head KVM switching system by using a VSC41 synchronisation cable.
Multi-platform support
The AV8PRO-DVI works with all known software and computer platforms, with PS/2, USB and Sun, including Windows (all), DOS, Linux, Unix, BSD, all Sun OS, all Mac OS, NetWare, etc.
Plug and Play
AdderView Pro KVM devices are delivered in a zero configuration state so you can plug them in and start working on them straight away. There is no need for drivers or software to be installed.

Question: With the AV8PRO-DVI-US, can you connect to multiple computers using a USB cable only to enable using mouse and keyboard on the various computers? The reason I ask is we currently have an older VGA/PS2 KVM switch which uses a special VGA cable combined with a USB and PS2 connection and we only use the USB connection to connect to the computers and the VGA connection to the KVM switch and I would like to minimize cable clutter by using a straight USB cable.

You can indeed use simple stand-alone USB A to B cables, like Adders VSC24 (6ft) and VSC29 (16ft), to enable mouse and keyboard on the sources.
To reduce cable clutter, Adder also sells similar combined DVI + USB KVM cables (without PS2 connector) for use with the AV8PRO-DVI - VSCD3 (6ft) and VSCD4 (16ft) - which you can optionally passively adapt to VGA using Adder VSA11 adapters.
Note, If you are looking for a switch for a video wall that doesn't require video switching at all, you may also be interested in a Keyboard Mouse Switch, like Adders CCS-PRO8.
