Answer: The CBL0026 is the correct 12' cable for this switch.
Question: will the video feed out to two monitors if a dvi splitter cable is used?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. Due to the nature in which KVM switches handle EDID info, we would be hesitant to say that it would work. While this is a dual-link KVM, it is unfortunately not dual-head. Essentially it will allow double the video throughput to a single monitor for greater resolutions than can be accomplished with single-link DVI.
Typically, for that type of setup, you would need a dual-head video card and a dual-head KVM switch.
The Switch view SC780 is an 8-port dual-head KVM in the Secure SwitchView family:

Question: My organization currently has over 270 of the SC4UAD-001 model KVM. Some desks have two of these which we would like to replace with one 8-Port switch. Does the Avocent SwitchView SC380, have the exact same connection ports as the 4UAD-001 with an additional 4 ports?
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. It appears that the connections are similar (with DVI-I and USB), but the security features may not be. The SC380 will allow the sharing of some USB devices, where the SC4UAD supported only a USB keyboard and mouse.
According to Avocent, the direct replacement for the SC4UAD-001 would be the SC640-001 (https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/sc640.html) or the SC680-001 (https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/sc680.html for the 8-port model).
There are a number of Avocent Secure SwitchView products available (https://www.kvm-switches-online.com/avocent-switchview-sc.html), depending on your specific need. We would love to speak with you in greater detail about your project. Please contact a KVM Switches Online representative directly at 1-877-586-6654 or via our online chat feature.
Question: I see the SC380 has the Analog pins on the DVI port also. Does this mean it will switch analog signals also if a users want to use an analog only configuration.
Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. This unit supports the DVI-I specification, which will allow for analog or digital DVI connections. Please note, however, it will NOT convert digital signals to analog or vice versa.
Question: Is there an MTBF or failure rate available for this unit?
