Resistive vs. Capacitive?
Resistive Touchscreen
Touch-sensitive computer displays composed of two flexible sheets coated with a resistive material and separated by an air gap or microdots. Resistive touchscreen technology works well with almost any stylus-like object, and can also be operated with gloved fingers and bare fingers alike.Capacitive Touchscreen
Capacitive touchscreen displays rely on the electrical properties of the human body to detect when and where on a display the user touches. Because of this, capacitive displays can be controlled with very light touches of a finger and generally cannot be used with a mechanical stylus or a gloved hand.

Answer: Thank you for your inquiry. The RP-819TS touchscreen utilizes a USB interface to communicate with you PC housing the Touchscreen Drivers. For remote applications that use a KVM to extend the source video and K/M, a KVM with a transparent USB port my be necessary to carry the USB signal to the remote console setup. Some KVM's block all USB signals that are not Keyboard or Mouse as well, something to keep in mind. A USB/Video extender unit, such as the ST-C5USBVT, may work as well for your application providing both VGA and USB Extension. For more options, call 1-877-586-6654 or visit the Extenders page and use the options on the left to help narrow down your search. *Note, for Video+USB, you may need to select 'KVM Extender' from the options.
